NYA announces team expansion amid growing demand for travel and cyber risk management services

In response to increased demand for its consulting services, NYA is announcing a series of initiatives designed to provide the additional capacity required for anticipated business growth over the longer term. The initiatives include the hiring of two additional analysts in NYA24 – the team central to NYA’s global operations underpinning our Crisis Response, Security Risk Management and Crisis Management services.

After a thorough and rigorous search, NYA is pleased to welcome analysts Karen Lugo Londoño and Georgina Turner to the NYA24 team. This development follows the promotion of NYA24 Senior Analyst Ghonche Alavi to Consultant, Information Security. Ghonche is an experienced Information and Network Security advisor and a Certified ISO 27001 Professional (CIP) registered with the International CyberSecurity Institute (ICSI). In her capacity at NYA, Ghonche collaborates with clients to assess their exposure to cyber incidents and identify and implement appropriate risk treatment options. Working alongside NYA’s wider consulting and response teams, Ghonche has delivered bespoke Simulated Incident Exercises designed to test an organisation’s capability to respond to a cyber incident and to identify steps that would build their proficiency.

Karen Lugo Londoño, a graduate from the London School of Economics and University of Toronto – St. George, joins NYA24 after gaining experience as an in-country project manager for a student-led organisation in Peru. Georgina Turner is a graduate from University College London (UCL) and the University of Bristol. Georgina brings unique research experience from her time at UCL, having carried out interviews in Mexico City with the mothers of ‘disappeared’ migrants, who are frequent targets of kidnap for ransom.

Alex Kemp, Chief Executive Officer of NYA, says “this expansion is exciting and crucial to both NYA and NYA24, and means we will continue to offer the outstanding support to our clients amid a growing spectrum of threats.”
